Audre Lorde Scholarship Fund:
Contribute to the Fund

A letter from Mary Anne Adams, Executive Director.

"Acknowledged, our dreams can shape the realities of our future, if we arm them with the hard work and scrutiny of now."

- Audre Lorde

Dear Friend:

In September, we achieved a landmark by awarding fifteen $1000 scholarships to an amazing group of gay and lesbian scholars. You are included in the we because you have been supporting this scholarship fund since its inception with your dollars, encouragement and support. The Audre Lorde Scholarship Fund is proud of its continued growth and its record of dispensing $70,000 in scholarship funds over the last few years.

Because we are the only national fund that specifically targets outstanding African-American (out) lesbians and gay men who attend any accredited post secondary institution in the United States; we have become a vital and necessary funding source. Again, your sustenance and generosity allows us not only to administer the fund but to also provide flights, lodging and meals for the scholars in an annual weekend ceremony lauding their achievements.
